Lift & Coast (“the app”) is made by Audren Lavenerable. This policy explains what the app does with your data.
The short version: everything you enter or record stays on your iPhone, or in your own iCloud Drive if you turn on iCloud backup. We don’t run servers, we don’t use analytics or advertising, and we don’t collect, sell or share any of your data.
Data the app stores on your device
Cars and records: cars, photos, fill-ups, expenses, reminders, receipts and notes you add.
Drives: while a drive is recording, the app records your location (route, speed, altitude) and motion sensor readings (acceleration, braking, cornering). Sensors are never used when no drive is recording.
Car detection: if you link a car to its Bluetooth or CarPlay connection, the app stores that connection’s name to recognise the car. It reads the current audio connection only when a drive starts.
Settings: units, currency and drive preferences.
This data lives in the app’s storage on your iPhone and in its widgets and Live Activity. It is included in your iPhone’s own backups (iCloud or computer) under Apple’s terms.
Backups
On your iPhone: the app saves a daily backup file in Files › On My iPhone › Lift & Coast › Backups. It stays on your device.
iCloud Drive (optional): if you turn on automatic iCloud backup, backup files are saved to the app’s folder in your own iCloud Drive. Apple stores them under the Apple Privacy Policy; we can’t access them.
Files you export: backups and CSV or GPX exports you save or share go wherever you choose to send them.
Permissions
Location (While Using or Always): records the route of your drives. “Always” lets a drive keep recording, or start from a Shortcuts automation, while your phone is locked.
Motion & Fitness: measures driving forces during a drive.
Camera: scans receipts and documents you choose to attach.
Photos (add only): saves drive images you choose to share.
Notifications: service and renewal reminders.
You can change any of these in the iOS Settings app at any time.
Purchases
Lift & Coast Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether your subscription is active.
Maps
Maps are shown with Apple MapKit. Apple may process map requests under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Deleting your data
Delete individual records in the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored on your iPhone. Backup files you saved to iCloud Drive or elsewhere stay there until you delete them.
Children
The app isn’t directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
