Recording drives

How do I record a drive?

Tap the Start button on the Garage or Drives tab. Recording begins when the car starts moving, and any wait before you drive off is trimmed.

Can drives start on their own?

Yes, with a Shortcuts automation. In the app, open Settings › Auto-start with CarPlay and follow the steps. It works with CarPlay or your car’s Bluetooth. Set Location to “Always” so recording can start while your phone is locked.

A drive started late or stopped early.

Check that Location is set to “Always” and Motion & Fitness is on for Lift & Coast in the iOS Settings app. Low Power Mode can also delay location updates.

Fuel cost

How is a drive’s fuel cost worked out?

The app estimates fuel from how the drive went (speed, stops, climbs) and prices it at your last fill-up. Enter your dashboard’s consumption reading after a drive and the estimate learns how your own car uses fuel.

Backups

Where are my backups?

A backup is saved on your iPhone every day, in Files › On My iPhone › Lift & Coast › Backups. With Pro you can also back up automatically to iCloud Drive. To make one now, use Settings › Back Up All Data.

How do I move to a new iPhone?

Save a backup to Files or iCloud Drive, install Lift & Coast on the new iPhone, then use Settings › Restore from Backup. Your cars, drives, records and settings come back. Restoring is free.

Lift & Coast Pro

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions › Lift & Coast. You can also use Settings › Manage Subscription in the app.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I bought Pro but it isn’t unlocked.

In the app, go to Settings › Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy it.
